Young and the Restless Next Week: Sharon’s Murder Confession Stuns Family – Daniel Worries

You’re reading to DrinkFood, the latest in television entertainment news. Hey, Y&R fans! Well, Sharon Newman actually seems to have murdered someone, and in some early spoilers for next week, she makes a confession that leaves her family reeling—and Daniel having to tell his daughter bad news.

It’s Belinda from DrinkFood, and we’re going to dive into what Sharon confessed and who she confessed to in this glimpse at Y&R official spoilers for next week. In the week ahead, we’re going to have a couple of pivotal scenes, with at least one happening on Monday. This includes the scene with Nick, Mariah, and Faith, where Sharon talks about a confession, and another scene with the family of her murder victim—Heather Stevens’ boyfriend and daughter.

Victim Scene: Daniel and Lucy

  • Lucy and Daniel are at the apartment, sitting on the couch. Lucy says, “Dad,” but Daniel seems distracted. He tells her, “Your mom’s not coming home.” Based on the tone and look on his face, it doesn’t seem like he’s telling her Heather is dead—he doesn’t say it dramatically enough. If you remember, Sharon packed a bag of evidence (the glass, whiskey bottle, bloody towels), along with Heather’s personal items, including her phone.

Sharon has been in and out of fugue states, and it’s possible she sent Daniel a text from Heather’s phone, saying Heather is leaving town—perhaps to Portugal to see her dad or back to Savannah for a job. If Sharon did this, it could buy her some time, but not much. We have to assume that Sharon did wrap up Heather and dispose of her body—the question is how Heather actually died and if Sharon caused it.

Big Confession

  • On Friday’s episode (Sharon Case’s 30th anniversary with Y&R), Sharon spent time at Cassie’s grave and then decided she knew what she had to do. There may have been a time lapse between the cemetery and Sharon returning home. It’s possible she went to the police or someone involved with Heather and Daniel, like Phyllis or even her psychiatrist.

The week ends with Sharon walking into her home, with her family relieved to see her. Nick was about to go looking for her. Sharon sits down and says, “That’s why I confessed.” Nick and Mariah are there, and probably Faith too. Nick asks, “Confessed to what?”

Sharon’s Mental State

  • Sharon is certain she killed Heather, though she doesn’t remember doing it. Some events resemble how she killed Cameron Kirsten years ago—she thought she killed him with a champagne bottle and dumped his body, though he wasn’t really dead. Now, Sharon may tell her family that she’s blacking out, losing time, and attacked Heather.

However, there’s also a chance she confessed to her doctor about her medication not working. I doubt we’ll get a full confession just yet. There’s speculation that this storyline could bring a recast character back, with Valerie Pedor debuting as Amy Lewis in late October. Perhaps Amy is the new police chief, which could play into Sharon’s confession if Heather’s body isn’t found immediately.

I do hope Heather isn’t dead, as it would be a tragic way to mark Sharon’s 30th year on the soap. Josh Griffith might have something twisted in store, though, with the risk of Sharon being sent to prison or a mental hospital. I just hope this plot doesn’t reduce Sharon Case’s role.

No official word yet if Veil Bloom is done as Heather Stevens, but fans are buzzing. Some sites speculate, but nothing has been confirmed yet. If Heather starts showing up as a hallucination, it could be wild!
