Days of our Lives Promo: Johnny Cheats, Chad Rages & Fabby Confesses
You’re listening to Soap Dirt, the latest in television entertainment news. Hey DA fans, I’ve got your weekly promo, and it is a good one! It is titled “Heartache and Joy,” and as I predicted in a day’s video a couple of days ago, Johnny is about to step in deep trouble and wreck his marriage because he has made a really bad assumption about Chanel—he is going to cheat. This is from Soap Dirt, and we’re going to talk about the promo, about Chad raging, Fabby confessing, and I’m going to tell you what day everything in the promo is happening and the spoilers tied to each of the sections of the promo. Then hang around until the very end, and I’m going to show you this juicy, juicy promo. And hey, click subscribe if you’re not following us—here we go!
So, in the first scene, we’ve got Steve telling Chad, “This woman is an impostor.” Fabby is down on the floor looking very stressed; obviously, she’s checking on her brother Mark, who is knocked out because Steve hit him upside the head since he was holding a gun on Chad, planning to shoot and kill him on Clyde Weston’s orders. That happened at the end of Friday’s cliffhanger episode. Steve tells Chad next week, “She’s a con artist.” Chad is completely devastated, and there’s a voice-over that says, “He fell for a lie and found heartache.” Chad just groans; he is sickened, and he rants at Fabby, “Why are you pretending to be my dead wife?” Fabby says, “I need to tell you who I really am.”
So, on Friday’s episode (if you’re current), Steve knocked out Mark, and we’ll probably get a replay of that on Monday—you know how they like to show us stuff again that we saw on the Friday cliffhangers. Then, on Monday, October 21st, spoilers have Chad shocked to find out Fabby is not the real Abigail, and it looks like all of this is going to play out on Monday’s episode. There are no other Chad, Fabby, or Steve spoilers for the week. I do hope Fabby explains to us exactly how Mark and Maron Green (her real name) got involved with creepy Clyde Weston, how he got his hands on their mom, and why she had such drastic plastic surgery that even her kids, Aaron and Felicity Green, don’t recognize her (though Felicity told Mark that the woman reminds her of their mother).
Alright, the second scene: the voice-over says, “He’s blind to the truth and finds joy,” and that’s quite literal. So, we have a replay of the scene from more than a week ago, of Johnny seeing Alex and Stephanie together in that hospital room where they were shooting some of the soap scenes. But Johnny didn’t see Chanel; he just assumed it was Chanel.
Then we have Johnny talking to Joy Wesley, who is new in town. They’re at a small bar, and he says, “My wife’s cheating on me,” and Joy responds, “Whoa.” On Monday, October 21st, Joy and Nancy Wesley hit Salem. Joy hasn’t been seen since she was in elementary school, but now she’s all grown up and gorgeous. Last week, Johnny was going to confront Chanel but chickened out, assuming she was with Alex. Johnny was eavesdropping and heard Chanel and Alex planning his surprise party, but he misinterpreted it. Monday will carry over into Tuesday, October 22nd, when Johnny runs into Joy at the bar. Spoilers for Tuesday say Johnny lies to Chanel, probably about him being out all night.
Tuesday is also when Nancy asks Bonnie to get Joy an audition on the soap. The third scene has Bonnie telling Abe and Kate about Joy, saying she’s Chloe Lane’s little sister, and they seem very interested. On Wednesday, October 23rd, Bonnie talks to Abe and Kate about giving Joy an audition, and they agree. There’s a promo photo (that I can’t show for copyright reasons) where Joy meets Johnny’s wife, Chanel, at the Body and Soul office—that should be interesting.
The next scene of the promo shows Joy doing a “walk of shame,” creeping into her room at the Salem Inn, where she shares with her mom, Nancy. Nancy asks, “Where were you last night?” and Joy replies, “I met somebody.” Nancy then holds up a wedding ring and asks, “Did you sleep with this man?” Clearly, she knows her daughter has fooled around with a married man. I think this scene predates the audition stuff based on what comes next.
Johnny and Joy probably do the deed on Monday, then go home Tuesday. Johnny lies to Chanel, and Joy explains to her mom. Wednesday’s confrontation between Johnny and Chanel happens when he sees her with Alex and accuses her of cheating. Chanel is confused, asking, “What are you talking about?” Johnny says, “I know you two are having sex in here!” Chanel will probably explain that it was Stephanie, not her.
On Thursday, October 24th, Johnny is horrified to learn he was wrong, and Chanel might tell him to go to hell for assuming she’d cheat. Things get messier because Joy ends up with Johnny’s wedding ring (he probably left it behind when they slept together). Chanel will definitely want to know where Johnny’s ring is, and Johnny might try to get Joy to keep quiet about their night together. But Chanel will find out, and maybe she’ll end up with Alex!
