Young and the Restless Next Week: Chance Arrests Daniel While Phyllis Screams
You’re listening to Soap Dirt, the latest in television entertainment news. Hey Y&R fans! It’s going to get wild as Chance slaps handcuffs on Daniel while Phyllis screams in outrage. Next week, we’ve got some really big spoilers for the week of October 28th through November 1st. It’s Belinda from Soap Dirt, and I’ve also got some really exciting news for sweeps about a blast-from-the-past set that they rebuilt, which will be the venue for Abby and Devon’s wedding. Let’s dive in, but please click subscribe if you haven’t yet!
Alright, we’re going to start with the spoilers I have for today. Tomorrow, I’ll have the full weekly spoilers, but right now, I have just a few, and we’re going from least to most interesting as I like to do sometimes.
First Spoiler:
This one’s less interesting only because there’s not a lot of info around it. Amy Lewis is coming back! She’s a recast from way, way back, and next week, she’s on Nate Hastings’ doorstep. Remember, he already went to see her out of town, and now Amy is in town, wanting to talk to him again. I’m excited about this because I love the actress they hired. I most recently saw Valerie Pettiford on Discovery of Witches on AMC Plus, but she’s been on a ton of stuff—you’ll probably recognize her. She’s a great fit for this role.
Amy is at Nate’s door, thanking him for seeing her again. She says it’s been a long time since she’s been in Genoa City. She left literally over three decades ago to care for her dad, Frank Lewis, the former police chief, during a health crisis. She once dated Nate’s dad, so we’ll see what that’s about.
Second Spoiler:
On Friday’s Y&R, Diane, fresh off getting tossed out of the Abbott mansion, moves into the GCAC. She then sits herself down at Nikki and Victor’s table to tell them she got dumped by Jack and also fired from Jabot. She tells Victor she’s cooking up a plan to make Jack pay by humiliating Kyle, thinking it will hurt Jack deeply. Diane says seeing Kyle fail will give them both a dose of the pain she’s felt.
Nikki seems to be in the dark about Victor using Kyle to punish Jack for what he calls “that night of debauchery.” Victor lets Diane ramble about her revenge plan, and she says she’ll let him know when she’s cooked up the scheme in case he wants to help. Nikki, mad that he even listened, reminds Victor that she didn’t want to hear it.
I’m holding out hope that Jack and Diane are staging all this to expose their enemies. If not, it’s rough, as I really like Jack and Diane as a couple. Next week, Nikki marches herself to the Abbott mansion to check on Jack. He tells her he’s lost his wife, his son, but not his sobriety. Nikki seems concerned and reminds him it’s easier said than done.
Last Spoiler:
This one is exciting but also frustrating. Starting on Friday and continuing into Monday, just after Daniel packs up Lucy to go on tour with his dad, Danny, the inevitable happens. Christine Williams corners Chance, asking him about Heather’s murder case. Chance tells her the evidence keeps piling up against Daniel. Christine points out how convenient it all seems, but Chance says it’s up to the DA whether or not to press charges.
On Friday, Phyllis takes her “Sharon is the real killer framing Daniel” theory to Billy Abbott. He, like Nick and Chance, thinks she’s reaching and only accusing Sharon because of their history. Chance starts arresting Daniel on Friday, right after Lucy leaves, so she won’t see it, which is good. We pick up with the arrest on Monday, where Phyllis starts screaming at Chance, accusing him of railroading her son into prison.
As Chance reads Daniel his Miranda rights, Phyllis loses her mind, screaming that he’s setting up her son. This could lead to her own arrest. Just then, Christine walks in and tells Chance to stop. She’s there to represent Daniel. Phyllis looks shocked, realizing that Danny likely sent her to save his son.
The unfortunate part of all this is Sharon’s spiral. Initially sympathetic, her character now feels manipulative and villainous. It’s a tough watch and a rough direction for both Sharon Case’s character and her portrayal.
Blast from the Past Set News:
They’ve rebuilt the old ranch house of Victor and Nikki, the one Sharon burned down back in 2012. Victor secretly rebuilt it, and despite how improbable it seems, they’ll unveil it on Friday, November 8th’s episode as the venue for Abby and Devon’s wedding. This coincides with Y&R’s 1,000th episode on November 13th!
