Bold & Beautiful’s Ian Buchanan Shares a Heartwarming Photo With Susan Flannery — Yes, *the* Susan Flannery!
Be still our hearts! On September 15, Bold & Beautiful Emmy winner Ian Buchanan casually dropped a photo of “me and my girl” to Instagram — and his girl was dear friend and longtime co-star Susan Flannery!
You’ll recall that from 1993-99, Buchanan, who’d previously played Duke Lavery on General Hospital, was a frontburner mainstay on Bold & Beautiful as Dr. James Warwick, who at one point risked the queen bee’s sting by falling for Forrester family matriarch Stephanie. Their portrayers have remained close over the years — to the point that Buchanan was able to give us all the feels with a single picture.
In the comments on the post, fans delighted in seeing the castmates together again, with some remarking that Bold & Beautiful just hadn’t been the same since four-time Emmy winner Flannery retired in 2012, at which point Stephanie was killed off. If nothing else, you can bet your butt that by now the character would’ve introduced Hope Logan to her infamous slap, what with the way she’s been throwing herself as Stephanie’s namesake granddaughter’s husband!
Buchanan’s last soap stint was as a resurrected Duke on General Hospital. Though Anna Devane’s true love was killed off for a second time, we’re still hoping he’ll rise once more from the grave. (After all, Jason Morgan has done it twice — three times if you count the time he came back as twin brother Drew Cain.)
