Bold and the Beautiful: Steffy Fired by Eric? Will Enemies Conspire to Axe Her?

You’re listening to Soap Dirt, the latest in television entertainment news. Hey B&B fans, well it looks like Steffy Forrester has about had it with people coming at her, and somebody could be fired, but who? It’s Belinda from Soap Dirt, and we’re going to talk about whose job is really at risk and who has the power to fire whom at Forrester Creations. Could it be Steffy that gets the axe? Will Eric fire her—his wife is a Logan after all? We’re going to dive in, but please click subscribe if you’re not following us.

This is definitely turning into a war just as we’re heading into November sweeps next week. You can tell already that Steffy rubbed Carter Walton the wrong way. He went and raged about her to Hope Logan, who suggested that Carter should be the one running the company. I’m sorry, what? It is not Logan Creations. It is not Walton Creations. It is Forrester Creations. Yeah, I know Ridge, Steffy, Thomas, and RJ are all by blood, so technically the only real blood Forresters around right now are Eric, Ivy, and Electra. But Ridge was raised a Forrester, and as far as Eric’s concerned, Ridge and all his offspring are Forresters.

But there is definitely a line drawn in the sand between the Logans and the Forresters, and now Carter and Will Spencer are on the Logan side of it. In fact, it sounds like what Brooke, Hope, Carter, and Ivy would like to see is all of them on one side and Steffy alone on the other. I’m guessing that Brooke would hope that Ridge would take her side. I’m not sure if he would, but it’s clear that all of this is about to come to a head.

This week on B&B, Steffy’s going to talk to Ridge about Carter being out of control. First, there was the suggestion they sink more money and effort into a line that’s already losing money—Hope for the Future. Then, he brought in Ivy and Electra to pitch a whole new business concept without checking with her first. I’m guessing Ridge won’t like that Carter did that, but he’s also the king of excuse-making. So Ridge may say something like, “Well, I’m sure Carter was just doing what he thought was best for the company.” And Steffy may hit back with, “Steamrolling your boss is not what’s best for the company.”

Plus, Carter is trying to make it sound like Steffy is letting personal grievances drive her business decisions. But she’s not trying to take anything away from Brooke’s Bedroom, because it’s a big success—even though she has personal issues with her ex-stepmother. And she has let Hope have more and more time with Hope for the Future, even past the point that Ridge thought it should have been cut.

As for Ivy, yes, they do have issues. But the bigger issue was that Carter and Ivy came at her blindside—no warning—and hammered her with a new business concept. They didn’t even let her talk, just relentless, and then expected her to say yes on the spot. Why would Steffy greenlight it after them blindsiding her like that? It wasn’t a presentation, it was just a verbal barrage, and it was inappropriate. That’s not how you approach the CEO of a company.

As for personal issues, Carter didn’t give two shakes about Hope for the Future until he decided he wanted Hope in his bed. He was all for cutting it before. So if anybody has personal issues making decisions about the business, it’s Carter. And Brooke, of course, is taking all of this personally because Hope is her daughter. If it was someone else’s line—like if Quinn was still there and her jewelry line wasn’t doing well—Brooke would be like, “Okay, cool, shut it down.”

So the big question is, who could wind up fired over this? Because the poop is about to hit the fan. Ivy is going to go running to Uncle Eric and tell him that Carter had the great idea to bring in her jewelry line under the Forrester Creations umbrella, but Steffy’s holding a grudge about Liam and said no. Then, Carter’s going to make his big House of Forrester pitch to everybody after Steffy shut him down once already. He’s going to go around her to the whole executive team after Hope got him all pumped up.

I just wonder if Carter is going to say what he said to Hope: that Forrester Creations is stagnating under Steffy’s leadership and she needs to go.

In case you’re wondering who has the power to hire and fire and make these decisions, here’s how the shares of Forrester Creations break down at last count. Eric and Steffy have equal and majority ownership. They each own 37.5%, so together they own 75%. The other 25% is divided this way: Ridge owns 20%, and Thomas owns 5%. So if Ridge stays out of it, because he’s dealing with his daughter on one side and his girlfriend on the other, and it’s just Steffy versus Eric—that’s 37.5% versus 37.5%. If Thomas gives Steffy his vote, then Steffy would have the power to fire Carter, fire Hope, and say no to all of this. And that would be the way it went, whether Eric liked it or not.

Steffy could also decide that no, we’re not bringing Ivy in. We’re not doing this jewelry line. No.

Now, if Ridge got involved and he sided with his dad, Eric, even if Thomas sided with Steffy, she would be outvoted. They could fire Steffy, take her out as CEO, put in Carter as Ridge’s new co-CEO, hire Ivy, shake everything up, and do this whole House of Forrester thing. Now, they can’t take away her ownership share, so Steffy would still be making plenty of money off the family business. But yes, if Ridge and Eric voted together, they could absolutely push Steffy out of her job.

However, I’m not so sure Ridge would side with Eric if Eric is siding with Team Logan-Carter, which he might, because his wife is a Logan. And you know Ridge is a supreme waffler. He generally will not take a stand when it comes to two sides, even when it’s Taylor versus Brooke. He loves the middle ground, he blows with the wind, and if it’s Eric and the Logans versus Steffy, that means a dead tie with Ridge abstaining, and Thomas would have to break it.

As far as we know, Steffy might already have Thomas’s vote in her pocket. He might have handed her his proxy to vote before he left for Europe, because he trusts her and that’s his sister. All I know at this point is it’s about to get really messy as we head into sweeps, which starts next Thursday.

I can’t see Steffy allowing Carter to get away with disrespecting her. I also think Hope and Carter are going to get busted soon. Steffy and Ridge are already wondering why Carter is so hyped up about Hope for the Future, and once Steffy finds out Hope and Carter are in this secret new romance, I think she is going to blow up and tell everybody. Because when you look at it from that angle, Steffy can say that she’s being targeted because Carter is trying to make big changes in the business to benefit his girlfriend, Hope, because her line is a flop.

I know that Carter said he’s had this plan in his head for a while, but he never brought it up until he was trying to get into Hope’s sheets, so it’s suspect. I do know that Steffy is being written as a real hard-ass right now, but I also think in her mind, it feels like it’s her fighting against everybody else while she’s trying to do the best she can.

I do agree that bringing in the jewelry line is a good idea, but I don’t agree with the way Carter did it. They came at her relentlessly, and it was very badly done and handled. Then, bringing up personal stuff—even though Steffy started that by bringing up Ivy and Liam—has just been messy. They need to come together as a family, but I think it’s going to come to a war instead.

One thing is for sure, it’s about to get messy. Ridge and Eric are going to be faced with Ivy and Carter’s claims that Steffy is bringing personal bias into work, but we can all see Carter is doing the same thing. And let’s be real, all the Logans and Forresters do it every single day.
